Jack Tramiel, the man who founded Commodore International has passed away at the age of 83.

Tramiel was a great influence of video games today. Commodore had the the record of the best selling personal computer. He started out his career by opening a repair shop for office machinery named "Commodore portable typewriter"in 1953. He did this until signing a deal a deal with a czech company to assemble and sell typewriters in North America in 1955.

Commodore soon got into the adding machine business, then the digital calculator business, but after being dominated by Texas Instruments they decided to look elsewhere. They soon bought MOS Technology Inc. and eventually made the famous commodore 64.

Sympathy goes out to Jack Tramiels' family as this man has had an effect on us all here.
